Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Master, and relying upon God for help, we do now solemnly covenant with each other:

That we will walk together in brotherly love, and guard with a family interest the good name and spiritual welfare of every member of this church.

That we will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, nor omit the great duty of prayer both for ourselves and for others.

That we will work for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness and service, contributing cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.

That we will religously educate our children and seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances.

That we will live soberly, righteously and godly, being just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment.

That we will bear each other's burdens, aid each other in sickness and distress and cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech.

That when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with another church where we may carry out the spirit of this covenant.
